Description:
Copied from a misericord carving found in Lincoln Cathedral. I first saw this on Chris' website and then found a place that sells resin casts of medieval church carving - Oak Apple Designs if I'm allowed to mention them. Having a model to work from really helped me appreciate the value of having a replica to work from and I will likely make clay models as first stage from now on. I found the bosting process quite tricky and was conscious that removing too much wood could ruin it before I'd even really begun. I made a depth measure and got a bit hung up on the numbers until the form started revealing itself. As for the next project, I think I'll go for something that doesn't need as much under cutting!
