Description:
I've been carving for several years now, but this is from some time ago. This piece was quite challenging, but I did have a rough maquette to help. I was inspired to carve this as I've admired very much the art of Central America. The heads carved by the Olmec had some basic similarities, but otherwise varied a lot, and I felt I could add some of my own interpretations to it. In other words, none of the heads left behind by the Olmecs look exactly like this!
