'Bosting' ('bosting in') is the carver's term for a rather sophisticated roughing out. You'll find me using the term in other Woodcarving Workshops projects.
Bosting is really the most important step in the carving process. Everything else follows: modelling, details etc. so you have to get this initial bosting stage right.
In this lesson you'll find some simple guidelines for bosting, and I'm still using those 3 golden nuggets that I mentioned at the start of the apple project to help you on your way.

I transferred some of your lesson's principles to my actual project: a bear - as in Teddy Bear! The wood is really hard - a block someone must have given me years ago, I think from Africa. Wish me luck and fun!
