Finalizing the head and neck; eyes and beak.
Look really hard at your reference pictures and try and find those features that say 'Merlin': the big eyes, in just the right place, and the vicious beak, with it's sharp point.
You'll notice that I finely sand the beak (and talons). This bestows a hard, polished look, contrasting with the lightly textured, 'feathery' surface left from the gouges elsewhere.

Nice to look at nr. 13 and 14, and have all the lessons.
