Finalizing the wings and tail; adding feathers.
The most challenging bit of the carving here lies in excavating the area between the undersides of the wings and tail, and the top of the post while keeping the 'line' of the bird. The wood just gets in the way! You'll see that I separate the tips of the wings quite considerably. It's this sort of detail, like the pierced talons that lift the carving about average. There's a lot of strength in the wing tips and tail from the long grain, but take it easy and support the wood as you carve.
