In this lesson I'll show you a quick way to create the sense of fur on the bat (and there is a lot more fur in real life than we can carve).
Something that really 'makes' a bat is the way the soft body is clearly differentiated from the leathery limbs. We do this by a change in surface texture and careful staining.
