This is perhaps the most delicate part of the carving. The two shirt edges are undercut from both sides and, as they swing round to meet at the button, they have quite short wood fibres. Don't make these 'walls' of wood too thin and definitely avoid levering on them.

And with this part of the carving finished, so is the collar as a whole.
