There are various ways of carving the linenfold ends to reflect the folding rolls and grooves. With a one-off, it takes a while to sort out what tools you need, how much and the order in which to cut things, so there will be a bit of back and forth. But once you get the sense of what you are doing, once you visualise how the ends work, you'll find you'll speed up.
