Once the letters are carved, we can paint them.
In this lesson I also show you a good way of positioning the banner so as to locate the fixing screws from behind. An alternative is to glue and clamp the banner in place.

William - When the pins (used to mark the box) are removed from the back of the ribbon/banner, you are left with their holes. These holes will of course correspond to those in the box through which the screws are to be fed, and thus the banner can be lined up.
