In this video I remove the carving from the backing board by splitting the paper 'sandwich'.
The main cloud is a fairly large piece of wood to hold in this way, so there is more than a 'normal' amount of paper to clean up and, thus it does take a while. I've yet to find a better way than sanding it off - the PVA is quite solvent resistant - but if you know of one, do let me know!
Besides cleaning up the backs, I look to the balance so that they hang correctly on the wall...
