When the High Angle grip is used with the tool at an angle to the wood, rather than perpendicular, you need to adjust your fingers.
Our hands are all a little different so you'll need to work out and practise the modified grip for yourself, but in this lesson I'll start you off with the basis of how I do it.

Karen - Use this way of holding a carving tool whenever it is offered to the wood with the blade more vertical.
